Blaise Merino is a Paris-born composer, producer, sound designer,
re-mixer and experimental bass player..
He has taken an autodidactic approach to music, using it as a form of self-therapy to vent the sounds that haunt him.
His early influences came from his father, Marcel Merino’s instrumental band Bedjabetch, as well as the menagerie of musicians that frequented their studio.
Blaise quickly began work on his own innovative projects and after extensive gigging across France, moved to London to pursue his vision.
Since the late-90’s, Blaise has put together and co-written
with a number of underground bands and obscure projects in the UK and North America, working with producer/songwriters including
Andy Gill, John Fryer, Alan Moulder, Adrian Hall, Marco Pirroni, and Teo Miller amongst others.
His 3-piece project Tribazik took him touring with post-punk legends Killing Joke, as well as co-writing with apocalyptic frontman Jaz Coleman.
Blaise makes conceptual albums and
improvisational performances, designs sound installations, collaborates with multimedia artists
and written music for films.
He currently spends his time on an eco-farm in the French Pyrénées, composing music, sustaining a forest, and working towards a world tour.
